We used our Ridgid Compund Sliding Miter Saw to do this. We cut the scraps to a length that would fit the Rockler Template + the length needed to drill a 1 3/8” carrying/hanging hole. Pictured below, a maple (the asymmetrical one that might make you twitch if you’re OCD), live edge cutoff, and an old cutting board that never got finished (the one with a pattern of 3 different wood types).
